Refurbishing Indian Queens Under-Five’s Pre-School
Mister Modular recently completed a comprehensive refurbishment of Indian Queens Under-Five’s Pre-School in mid-Cornwall.
This project involved enhancing the internal layout, operational efficiency, and overall appearance of the modular building to create a more modern and welcoming environment for children and staff.
Challenges and Planning
With no temporary facility available, all works had to be completed during the school summer holidays. Careful pre-planning and coordination with contractors and suppliers were essential to meet the tight deadline.
Key refurbishment features included:
- Installing new external cladding, doors, and windows
- Upgrading internal wall linings, doors, and flooring
- Reconfiguring the internal layout
- Upgrading electrics, including wall-mounted comfort cooling units to replace outdated panel heaters
- Constructing a brand-new kitchen
- Adding an access ramp to the play area and fire exit platform
Thanks to a combination of precise planning and commitment from everyone involved, the project was completed on time, ready for the start of the new term.

The upgraded Pre-School has been warmly received by both staff and parents. Julie Sibley, Pre-School Manager, shared her feedback:
